![]() Again, I am pretty sure that the Royale High Team is NOT keeping the money but it is always better to donate straight to the source. ![]() This is not a problem with a platform like Twitch for example, where they enforce this, but Roblox will not be making sure that the money is actually going to charity. It is always better to go directly to the source rather than go through a middle man. I am not accusing the Royale High Team of keeping the profits, but I would rather donate directly to be certain the money is going to St Judes. Almost none of the money goes to them this way.Īnother problem with this is that we cannot verify the money is actually going to the charity. ![]() DO NOT buy this set to donate to St Judes. If you would like to donate to St Judes, I highly encourage you to donate directly at their website and just generally show support for them. What this basically means is that you'll mainly be donating to Roblox instead of St Judes when you buy these items. This is only 25 percent of the money (exact figure is 25.010004001 percent but yk close enough) originally donated. Then, when she Devexes that robux to convert it into real-life currency, Roblox additionally takes away 65 percent of the original value (to avoid losing profit and people exploiting the Devex system) leaving the total amount of money made $6.25. This means that when you buy a something in-game for 2000 robux (Worth $24.99), Barbie then gets 70 percent of that - 1400 robux (Worth $17.50). The problem with this IS NOT that it is for charity, but rather that Roblox taxes the gamepasses, taking 30 percent as their marketplace fee, and then taking 65 percent of the robux value when the robux is Devexed. The best way to demonstrate this is by speaking with our money and showing that these sorts of decisions upset the community and mean a drop in profit.Īdditionally, the official Royale High Twitter account has said that all money made from the set and item will be donated to St Jude's. The majority of the community, including myself, would not like items costing robux in the future. However, you would still need to buy the 4.5k robux package if you do not already have that money, which is still $50. Note: to buy only the set or only the item would be much cheaper. I'd encourage you to do that as well, I'm kinda curious on what people would do with that money LMAO. There are many things I would rather do with that amount of money, and I'll list them in the comments. Most people, however, do not, so they'll either have to find a way to earn the robux or straight-up buy it. Therefore, to buy all the items you need to spend that amount of money unless you already have that amount of robux. To buy that amount of robux, you either need to buy 2 4.5k robux packages or 1 10k robux package, totalling $100. The set is being sold for 4.5k robux, and the item is being sold for 4k robux. Well, the main reason we should be boycotting is the overpriced new set and item that are coming out. Obviously, I can't control comments but I would prefer to focus on what we can do and not how upset we are. Please do not use this post as a place to rant, but rather somewhere to have constructive discussion about how we as a community can demonstrate we do not want robux-only sets in the future. This post is NOT meant to be a rant, but rather an explanation on why I believe we should boycott and what we can do to boycott. I wasn't sure what flair to use, so I'm using the discussion flair.
